To my beloved,

Today I set out on an adventure — one I have long awaited. An adventure that asks something of me… not certainty, but trust in the process along the way.

How does one trust what lies ahead?
How do you follow where the unseen leads?

I remember a night spent beneath the stars. The brook and the sky became my quiet guides, stretching far beyond what I could fully grasp. Beyond the hills, past the trees where few dare to go. For beneath the weight of uncertainty, fear often waits.

We fear what we do not understand. And what we do not understand, we are quick to dismiss.

But when was the last time we penned the stars to chart our course? When did we command the sun to set — and it obeyed? Were we there when the waters were separated from the land? Do we direct the winds as they move, or sustain the life that moves upon the earth?

No.

And yet we question the One who does.

How can we doubt the God who created all things, or dismiss His Son who was there in the beginning — who was with God, and who is God?

Far be it from us to turn away from what has already been given — an inheritance secured not by our strength, but by His.

This is the hope I now hold.

Even when I cannot see what lies ahead.

Even when the path feels uncertain beneath my feet.

It is faith that steadies me — faith in the One who speaks, and it is so. The One who holds the world in His hands and breathes life where there was none. His Word does not fail. It does not return empty.

It stands.

And because it stands, I will trust.

As I step forward — as I board what lies ahead — I do not do so alone. I hold fast to His promise: that by His grace I am kept, and by His Spirit I am led.

And though the road may rise and fall, though questions may come and go, this I know:

His love will not let me go.

His Word stands — and because it stands, I will trust.

Love, Virtue

In the Margins:

Reflect:Where do you find it hardest to trust God right now — in understanding, or in surrender?

Read: 2 Timothy 3:16; John 1:1–2; Hebrews 11:1

Listen (Optional): Why Trusting the Bible Feels Hard (and What Builds Confidence) — Ep. 130

Practice: Identify one area where you’ve been seeking certainty. This week, choose to trust God’s Word there, even before full understanding comes.

If this reflection stirred something in you, we would love to hear from you. Feel free to reach out.
